Augustine Okrah

Augustine Okrah is a Ghanaian attacking midfielder and winger who plays for Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League. He was the league's top scorer and Player of the Season in 2013-14, and his career has taken him to Sweden, Sudan, India and Tanzania before bringing him back to Bechem, the club that shaped him. In the 2025-26 season he was again among the league's leading scorers, with 17 goals.

Bechem and the breakthrough

Okrah was born on 14 September 1993 and came through the youth ranks at Bechem United and the Red Bull Ghana academy. He made his senior debut with Asante Kotoko, winning the 2011-12 league title, and was loaned to Liberty Professionals. Back at Bechem in 2013-14 he scored 16 league goals, finishing as the division's top scorer and its Player of the Season. He played four matches for Ghana's Under-20 side in 2013 and scored five goals.

Abroad

A loan to BK Häcken in Sweden in 2014 was followed by two productive years in Sudan. At Al-Merrikh he won the league and cup double in 2015, and at rivals Al-Hilal he won the league again in 2017. He then had a short spell with NorthEast United in the Indian Super League.

Return home

Okrah went back to Asante Kotoko in 2019 and earned two caps for Ghana's senior team. He returned to Bechem for 2021-22, scoring 14 league goals as the club reached the FA Cup final, and then signed for Simba SC in Tanzania. He rejoined Bechem in 2024 and remains one of the most dangerous attackers in the domestic league.
