About Victor Kusi Boateng

Victor Kusi Boateng is a Ghanaian pastor, author and motivational speaker. He founded Power Chapel Worldwide, based in Kumasi, and served as Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral of Ghana project. His close ties to the New Patriotic Party and the questions raised about the Cathedral have made him one of the most discussed clergymen in the country.

Ministry

He was born on 7 September 1971 in the Ashanti Region. He started Power Chapel Worldwide in Kumasi with the support of his spiritual father, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams. He is regarded as a mentor to several pastors in Africa, including the Zimbabwean prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, and has held a role as a presidential envoy for Zimbabwe. His books include Blood for Blood, Wisdom Capsules for Survival and Manasseh before Ephraim. In 2018 he received an Africa Legendary Award.

The National Cathedral

As secretary to the Cathedral's board of trustees, he was at the centre of the debate over the stalled project. North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa alleged that he used two identities, including the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, with different passports and dates of birth, and petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice. Kusi Boateng denied any wrongdoing and called the claims defamatory. The Cathedral's chief executive said he had always known him as Adu Gyamfi and saw no criminality.

Politics

He is openly close to former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia. In August 2026 he said he was ready to go to prison rather than give up that friendship.

Family

He is married to Anita Kusi Boateng, and they have four children.
