Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, known as Afia Schwarzenegger, is a Ghanaian media personality, comedian and TV presenter. She became famous in 2011 through the TV comedy series Afia Schwarzenegger, and is known for outspoken commentary on celebrities and politics.
Early life and education
She was born on 14 February 1982 in Kumasi. She attended Ridge Experimental School and the Seventh-day Adventist School in Tamale, then St. Louis Senior High School and KNUST Senior High School.
Career
Her break came with the lead role in Afia Schwarzenegger, a comedy series produced by Deloris Frimpong Manso. She has since hosted Yewo Krom on Okay FM, Kokooko on UTV and The Afia Schwarzenegger Talk Show on ETV, and has worked with TV Africa and Kasapa FM.
Court cases
In 2022 she claimed on UTV's United Showbiz that she had had a relationship with Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman known as Chairman Wontumi. He sued. In January 2023 the High Court in Tema convicted her of contempt and fined her GH¢60,000, with a bond of good behaviour, and ordered her to pay him GH¢5,000 over defamatory comments. In 2024 he went back to court, accusing her of breaking the terms of her release.
