Deloris Frimpong Manso

Delay is one of the most distinctive and successful media personalities in Ghana, a television and radio host whose incisive, no-holds-barred interview style made her show essential viewing, and whose business ventures turned her fame into an empire.

Early life

She was born Deloris Frimpong Manso on 25 June 1982 in Nkawkaw, in the Eastern Region. She attended Aburi Girls and Methodist University College, but her broadcasting career began remarkably early, at just seventeen.

Radio and rise

She started as a presenter at Life FM in Nkawkaw in 1999, then moved to Accra, working at Top Radio and later Oman FM. It was on radio that she honed the sharp, fearless interviewing manner that would become her trademark.

The Delay Show

In 2008 she launched her own television programme, The Delay Show, which became one of the most talked-about talk shows in the country, famous for candid, sometimes provocative celebrity interviews. In 2011 she wrote and produced the popular comedy series Afia Schwarzenegger, showing her range as a creator as well as a host.
