$pacely
Rapper, Singer, La Meme Gang Member
About $pacely
$pacely, pronounced "Spacely", gave La Meme Gang its name: it means "the same gang". With fellow members Darkovibes, Nxwrth, RJZ, KiddBlack and KwakuBS, the collective became one of the best-known trap groups in Ghana in the late 2010s.
Early life
He was born Elorm Kabu Amenyah on 1 August 1992 and moved to Ghana in 2012, where he started a music group in school with his friend Art Soul Kojo, now a painter.
Career
In 2016 he met the producer Kuvie, and his first single, "Love on Drugs", featured Darkovibes and Nxwrth. Long sessions at Villain Sounds studio drew the six into La Meme Gang, whose debut tape earned four Ghana Music Awards nominations in 2019. His 2017 track "Digits", later remixed with Kwesi Arthur, earned him the nickname "Keanu"; peers also call him the ad-lib king. His debut EP, Fine$$e or Be Fine$$ed (2019), includes "Somimu" with Cina Soul and "Uber" with Joey B. He has also featured on records by Sarkodie, R2Bees and Pappy Kojo, and appeared with the collective in a Boiler Room documentary.
