About Akesse Brempong
Akesse Brempong (born Phil Evans Akesse-Brempong, 1984) is a Ghanaian gospel singer, worship leader, songwriter and preacher. He blends traditional and contemporary gospel styles, and fans know him as "Da Crazy Love Dude" after his song Crazy Love.
Early life
He is the second of four children of Gina and Peter Opoku Ababio, and grew up in Ahinsan, a suburb of Kumasi. He became a born-again Christian at Kumasi High School and has said he found his life's purpose at 17.
Career
He released his first album, Songs in the Night, in 2014, followed by God Is Working (2015) and the live album West Hills Live (2017). Heal Our Land (Live) came out in 2019, the year a remix of Crazy Love was released.
Blessed, with Joe Mettle, was nominated for Gospel Song of the Year at the 2021 Ghana Music Awards, where he was also nominated for Gospel Artiste of the Year. Yahweh: Song of Moses earned Gospel Song and Gospel Act nominations at the 2022 3Music Awards. His later albums include The Awakening (2023) and Davidic (2025).
