Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr

Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr is a Ghanaian technology entrepreneur and the founder and chairman of the Margins ID Group, a homegrown company that has grown into one of sub-Saharan Africa's foremost identity and secure document enterprises. His story, from a hundred-dollar start-up in a garage to a multinational group, has made him one of the most celebrated business figures in Ghana.

Baiden was born in Sekondi-Takoradi to a teacher mother and a businessman father. He attended Chapel Hill School for his primary education and Mfantsipim School for secondary education between 1978 and 1985, before gaining admission to the law faculty at the University of Ghana and later attending the Ghana School of Law. It was during his student years that his entrepreneurial instincts took hold and set the course for his career.

In 1990, as a twenty-three-year-old law student, Baiden launched what would become the Margins ID Group with an investment of just one hundred dollars, working out of his father's garage at Ringway Estates in Accra. The company has been involved in major national identity and secure document projects, positioning Baiden at the forefront of Africa's push to develop indigenous capacity in digital identity infrastructure. He was named overall best chief executive at the Ghana CEO Summit and has received numerous honours celebrating his contributions to technology, innovation and enterprise, including accolades describing him among Ghana's greatest entrepreneurs. He also participates in international bodies concerned with the digital economy.
