David Accam

David Accam did not play for a club until he was twelve. A Right to Dream scout spotted him on the gravel pitches of Accra's parks, and he went on to become a designated player in Major League Soccer.

England and Sweden

He was born on 28 September 1990. After four years at Right to Dream he won a scholarship to Hartpury College in England in 2008, playing for Ledbury Town and Evesham United while his student visa kept him out of higher levels. He was one of eight winners of Nike's The Chance in 2011, and in March 2012 Graham Potter signed him for Ostersund in Sweden's third tier. Helsingborg paid 2 million kronor for him that August, a record fee for a third-tier Swedish player, and he scored 17 goals in 26 games there.

MLS and Ghana

Chicago Fire signed him as a designated player in December 2014. He won 11 caps for Ghana before retiring.
