Lawrence Ati-Zigi was Ghana's first-choice goalkeeper at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He plays in Switzerland for St. Gallen.
Career
He was born on 29 November 1996 and came through Red Bull Ghana before Red Bull Salzburg signed him in January 2015 and placed him with FC Liefering, where he played 33 times over two seasons; he picked up a league medal as a squad member at Salzburg in 2015-16. In July 2017 he followed his Liefering coach Peter Zeidler to Sochaux in France, making his Ligue 2 debut in February 2019, and later moved to St. Gallen.
Black Stars
He played for Ghana at under-17 and under-20 level and made his senior debut against Iceland in June 2018. He was in the squads for the 2019 and 2021 Africa Cup of Nations before starting at the World Cup.
