Mohammed Kudus

On 12 October 2025 Mohammed Kudus scored the only goal against Comoros that sent Ghana to the 2026 World Cup as group winners. Seven months later injury kept him out of the tournament itself.

Nima to Copenhagen

Kudus was born on 2 August 2000 in Nima, Accra. He played for the Strong Tower club from 2010 and joined the Right to Dream Academy in 2012, which sent him to its Danish partner, FC Nordsjaelland. He made his debut there three days after his 18th birthday and scored 14 league goals in two seasons.

Ajax, West Ham and Tottenham

Ajax paid €9 million for him in July 2020, and he won the Eredivisie in 2020-21 and 2021-22 and the KNVB Cup in 2021. West Ham United signed him in August 2023 for a reported £38 million. In July 2025 Tottenham Hotspur bought him for £55 million on a six-year contract. He played in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain that August, scored his first Spurs goal at Leeds in October and his first Champions League goal against Slavia Prague in December. A thigh injury against Sunderland on 4 January 2026 began a long lay-off, and a setback in April ruled him out of Ghana's World Cup squad.

Black Stars

His first senior goal came against South Africa in November 2019. At the 2022 World Cup he scored twice in Ghana's 3-2 win over South Korea, and at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations he scored both goals in a 2-2 draw with Egypt. He had 46 caps and 13 goals by October 2025.
