Rashida Black Beauty

Rashidatu Mohamed, known as Rashida Black Beauty, is a Ghanaian social media personality. A video she recorded as a teenager in 2016, in which she lashed out at her ex-boyfriend, became one of the most shared Ghanaian clips of that year and made her an overnight name.

The viral video

The 2016 clip, aimed at an ex-boyfriend she called Kushman, was copied, remixed and quoted across Ghana. On 22 December 2016 it won Viral Video of the Year at the Viasat 1 Jigwe Awards in Accra, a decision that some Ghanaians criticised. In 2018 Kofi Kinaata built his song "Malafaka" around her catchphrase.

Court case and break

She later released an explicit video that drew a public backlash. She was arrested and charged with indecent exposure, released on bail, and afterwards apologised in tears. She had a daughter in 2019 and stepped away from public life.

Return

In 2023 she made a surprise appearance on stage with Kofi Kinaata at a concert in Berekum. In January 2025 a TikTok video showing her new look went viral, with many fans saying they barely recognised her.
