Fantana

Fantana is a Ghanaian Afrobeats artiste and reality television personality. She broke through with her 2018 debut single "Backstabber" on Rufftown Records and became known well beyond Ghana as a cast member of Netflix's Young, Famous and African. In October 2026 she was in the news for giving Shatta Wale a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser for his birthday.

Background

Profiles give her real name as Francine Koffie, although the spelling of the surname varies between sources, and some list Capo Tana as another stage name. She was born in July 1997 and grew up in the United States, with family roots in the Nzema area of the Western Region. Her mother is Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the MP for Jomoro.

Music

She first drew attention by posting freestyles on Instagram. Rufftown Records manager Bullet, who also manages Wendy Shay, brought her into the label, and "Backstabber" became a hit in Ghana in 2018. She followed it with songs such as "So What" and built a following on social media as much as on radio.

Young, Famous and African

Her place on Young, Famous and African, the Netflix reality series about celebrities from across the continent, gave her a much larger audience. Her storyline with the Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz was one of the most talked-about parts of the show.

The Shatta Wale gift

On Friday, 16 October 2026, the eve of Shatta Wale's birthday and his ShattaFest concert at the Accra Sports Stadium, Fantana delivered a 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Twin Turbo to his Trasacco home in Accra. Adom News described the two as cousins and noted that Shatta Wale had campaigned for her mother in Jomoro. Shatta Wale promised to return the favour with a gift of similar size for her birthday in July.
