Florence Obinim

Florence Obinim is a Ghanaian gospel musician and the wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of International God's Way Church. For years she was a regular presence in her husband's ministry, leading worship as a singer. In 2026 the couple's marriage broke down in a very public way.

Music

Her gospel songs include "Me Dimafo", "Mehia W'adom", "Oben Me", "Ma Me Nyansa" and "Mahunu Bi Da". In 2026 she dropped the Obinim name from her social media accounts and began presenting her work under the name Lioness Ministries.

Marriage and divorce

Florence and Daniel Obinim were married for more than 20 years and have three children. On 1 September 2026 reports emerged that her family had returned the "tiri nsa", the customary drink that marks a wife ending a marriage. On 13 October 2026 Bishop Obinim read out at a church service in Tema what he said were her divorce demands, including a large cash sum and several properties; Yen's report gave the sum as GH₵20 million. The following day her lawyer, speaking on Peace FM, said her reasons included allegations about the bishop and other women and his habit of airing their marital issues in church. The divorce proceedings were ongoing as of November 2026.

Benedicta Gafah encounter

Florence had a public falling-out with actress Benedicta Gafah earlier in 2026. On 1 November 2026 the two were filmed standing near each other at Piesie Esther's "Flora Made By Grace" concert at Perez Chapel International in Dzorwulu, Accra. In the clip Florence touched Benedicta's cheek, and Benedicta then touched her own chin twice, a gesture social media users read in very different ways. Neither woman commented publicly.
