Jayso

Jayso, born Paul Nuamah Donkor on 1 June 1983, is a rapper, producer and songwriter who shaped the sound of a generation of Ghanaian rap. He produced most of Sarkodie's debut album Makye, including Borga, and founded the Skillions crew that launched E.L.

PRESEC and Skillions

He grew up in Adenta and learned to rap and produce while at Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School, Legon. Before Skillions he worked with JPE (now Kobi Onyame), Canz and Mr. Scratch on the Haatsville Project mixtape. Skillions started with Ball J and Jinx Therapy (later Frank P), and E.L, Midnight and J-Town joined soon after. Their 2002 Skillions Demotapes, recorded in Jayso's bedroom studio, mixed English and pidgin and found a big youth audience.

Producer and artist

His production credits include Sarkodie, M.anifest, R2Bees, Efya, Kwaw Kese, Okra Tom Dawidi, Jon Germain, UK rapper Sway, Nigerians Naeto C and Ikechukwu, and Wyclef Jean. In 2013 he and Sarkodie released the joint album T.M.G. His own debut album, Making Tasha Proud, came out in December 2015, followed by the long-running 0106 series of EPs and albums.
