Jupitar

Jupitar (born Michael Okine) is a Ghanaian dancehall artiste who sings in Jamaican patois. He rose to fame with Money Box in 2012 and has been nominated several times at the Ghana Music Awards, most recently for Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year in 2025.

Career

He began working with the producer Genius Selections in 2011, and a song with the rapper Trigmatic gave him his first national hit and his first Ghana Music Awards nomination. Money Box followed in 2012. He has shared stages with Jamaican acts including Busy Signal, Mavado and Demarco, and in 2017 his song Clowns was nominated at the Urban Music Awards in the UK, where he was the only Ghanaian nominee that year.

Later releases include Nuh Lazy (2016), the album The One (2021) and Star Life with Shatta Wale (2021), which was nominated for Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year at the 2022 3Music Awards. In 2023 he released Enemies with Sarkodie and Eternity with Kuami Eugene. He was nominated for Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year in 2020, and I Keep Winning (2024) brought Best Reggae/Dancehall Song and Artiste nominations at the 2025 Ghana Music Awards.
