Nadia Eke

Nadia Eke holds Ghana's triple jump record of 14.33 metres, set at the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston, Jamaica, in 2019. She was African champion in 2016.

Columbia years

She was born on 11 January 1993 and graduated from Columbia University in 2015. She first passed 13 metres in March 2014, winning the Ivy League indoor title, and later that year won African Championships silver in Marrakesh and finished tenth at the Commonwealth Games. In 2015 she was third at the NCAA indoor championships and took bronze at the African Games.

Senior career

A string of improvements in American meets in 2016 led to the African title. She jumped 13.93 in Saint Martin in May 2017 but did not get past qualifying at that year's World Championships, and was tenth at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Her 14.33 in 2019 earned a place at the Tokyo Olympics, where she carried Ghana's flag at the opening ceremony but registered no valid jump. Her long jump best is 6.17 metres.
