Andy Dosty

Andy Dosty has hosted Daybreak Hitz, the morning show on Accra's Hitz FM, since 2017. Two years into the job he was named Radio Personality of the Year at the 2019 National Communications Awards.

Early life

He was born Andrew Amoh in Ankasi in the Ashanti Region, the son of Kwame Amoh and Elizabeth Owusu Achea, a former headmistress of Akrom M/A JHS. He had his basic education in Kumasi and went to Prempeh College, where he completed his O Levels in the early 1990s. He trained in broadcasting at the GBC radio school.

Radio and events

As a DJ and presenter with the Multimedia Group, he took over Daybreak Hitz in 2017. In 2018 he joined the board of the Ghana DJ Awards, and in 2024 he co-hosted the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards with Roselyn Felli. He also released a single, "Love You Die", featuring Kuami Eugene.

Disputes

In 2019 he said he had helped Shatta Wale succeed, a claim the singer's fans rejected. In February 2021 he removed Okese1 from a show line-up for arriving late, which drew public criticism.
