Bridget Otoo

Bridget Otoo is a Ghanaian journalist, broadcaster and public relations professional. A former news anchor at TV3, she was appointed Presidential Staffer in charge of Government Communications in June 2025.

Early life and education

She was born on 31 December 1983, the daughter of Francis Otoo and Agnes Arthur, and has six siblings. She attended Aggrey Memorial Basic School in Sekondi and Bompeh Senior High Technical School in Takoradi, where she was girls' prefect and was nicknamed "The Headmistress" for her bluntness. She earned a BA in mass communication at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and an MBA at the University of Ghana.

Career

From 2003 she worked as a voice-over artist on adverts for brands such as Tigo, Barclays, Unilever and Ecobank. She did her national service in public relations at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, and in 2008 worked on radio and TV with Good News FM and Sky TV. At TV3 she hosted New Day and You and the Police and read the prime-time news.

Activism

She is known for blunt commentary on social and political issues, including open support for LGBTQ rights in 2021, which drew heavy criticism. On 21 September 2023 she was among the demonstrators arrested by police at the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest in Accra.

Government

On 27 June 2025 President John Dramani Mahama appointed her Presidential Staffer in charge of Government Communications, working with Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
