Cookie Tee

Shirley Emma Tibilla, known on air as Cookie Tee, is a Ghanaian television presenter, event host and former actress. She co-hosts New Day, the TV3 morning show, and in 2025 she was appointed chief executive of Nineteen57 Events, the company behind the fashion show Rhythms On Da Runway.

Humble beginnings

Her family moved from the Volta Region to Accra when she was young. She has described a modest childhood: she could not get a place at Achimota School because it was full, and she repeated a class at Harrow international school in Abeka before finishing fourth in a class of 79. She went on to St Mary's Senior High School and later studied theatre arts and political science at the University of Ghana. She has said she lost her mother at 19, just as she was about to start university, and has seen her father only three times in her life.

Acting first

Acting came before broadcasting. She had roles in Ghanaian films including Hashtag and Shampaign and has said her career "actually started with acting".

EIB Network to Media General

After several auditions she joined the EIB Network in 2018. On GHOne TV she hosted Life Tales, Tales From The Powder Room and Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner, and on Starr FM she presented The Zone and Starr Drive. In December 2020 she left EIB for Media General, where she works across TV3 and 3FM and became a regular face on New Day. She is also a busy emcee and has hosted the RTP Awards, 3Music Awards, Ghana Event Awards and Ghana Club 100 Awards.

Nineteen57 Events and charity

In May 2025 Nineteen57 Events named her its CEO. She runs Mabel's Angels Foundation, a nonprofit that supports underprivileged young people. She celebrates her birthday on 25 February.

In the news

In late October 2026 a throwback photo she shared from London in 2009 drew thousands of comments from fans surprised by how much she had changed.
