Kojo Soboh

Kojo Soboh founded EMY Africa, the awards and lifestyle brand celebrating African men, and the events firm Carbon AV. Before that he sang as Kojo Rana in the group Rana.

Background

Daniel Kojo Soboh was born in Prestea in the Western Region, the eldest of five children of a geologist father and a teacher mother. He went to Prestea Goldfields School and Golden Star School in Bogoso, then St. Augustine's College, and studied information and communication science at the Catholic University College of Ghana. He did national service at Ghana Commercial Bank while performing with Rana, and earned an MBA at GIMPA in 2014.

Events

Rana reached the top five of Nescafé African Revolution and were signed by Appietus. Soboh later became head of events at Imajin Advertising, running shows such as the Stand Up Gh concert, Ghana Stands in Worship and the Legends and Legacy Ball, which brought Donnie McClurkin, Keri Hilson and Bow Wow to Accra alongside Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba. Through Carbon AV he worked with USAID and GIMPA from 2017 to 2019 on the Young African Leaders programme.
