Patricia Obo-Nai

Patricia Obo-Nai became the first Ghanaian chief executive of Vodafone Ghana in April 2019, after eight years on its executive team. She now sits on the board of Absa Bank Ghana.

Education

She attended Bishop Bowers School, St. Rose's in Akwatia for O levels and Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School for A levels, then earned an electrical engineering degree at KNUST. She also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Ghana and has done executive programmes at Kellogg and INSEAD.

Career

She has worked in IT and telecoms since 1997, including 14 years at Millicom, operator of Tigo. Vodafone hired her as chief technology officer in 2011; she later led its fixed business and customer operations before her appointment as CEO was announced on 19 February 2019. She is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers. Leading Ladies Africa named her among the continent's 50 most influential female business leaders in 2021, and she was telecom CEO of the year at the 2020 Ghana IT and Telecom Awards. She was also listed among Avance Media's top 100 women board directors in Ghana in 2026.
