Teacher Kwadwo is a Ghanaian comedian and content creator born Michael Owusu Afriyie on 25 April 1988 in Kumasi whose comedy videos built him a substantial following on social media before TikTok became the primary platform for Ghanaian short-form content. He trained and worked as a teacher employed by the Ghana Education Service, teaching at Akrofuom D/A Primary School in the Ashanti Region, and it is that professional identity, the funny teacher who turned classroom humour into internet fame, that gave his persona its distinctive hook. In 2020, he won Content Creator of the Year at the National Communications Awards.

Early Life and Education

Michael Owusu Afriyie grew up in Kumasi, attending Jubilee Preparatory School at Oforikrom and then Asem Mixed and Adventist Preparatory School in Amakom. He completed his secondary education at Tweneboah Kodua Senior High School in the Ashanti Region before training as a teacher at Akrokeri College of Education.
