Franklin Fentim Appiah, popularly known as Akwasi Bugati, is a Ghanaian digital journalist and the Founder and Team Lead of Akwasi Bugati Media, a digital media platform covering news, entertainment, sports, lifestyle, culture, technology, events and trending conversations.
Born on October 8, 1995, at St. Mary Catholic Hospital in Drobo, Franklin is from Asiri in Ghana’s Bono Region. He spent his formative years in Berekum, where he received his primary and Junior High School education at Voice of Deliverance Preparatory and JHS.
He later attended St. Hubert Seminary in Kumasi before pursuing a Diploma in Computer Science at Doxa Open University in Dansoman, Accra.
Franklin’s career has been shaped by technology, entrepreneurship and new media. After secondary school, he began his working life as a Mobile Money agent in Berekum before moving to Accra in 2016.
He subsequently worked as a shop attendant and hotel receptionist and later operated Fenit IT Solutions, providing phone and computer repair services. His interest in technology led him into tech blogging through Fenitit.wordpress.com before he transitioned into digital journalism.
Franklin began blogging as a side hustle in 2020 and created the Akwasi Bugati identity in 2021. Akwasi Bugati Media was officially launched in 2022 and became his full-time professional pursuit in 2023.
