Fancy Gadam

When Fancy Gadam launched his Dream album at Tamale Stadium on 5 October 2019, more than 25,000 people came. He is one of the leading artists from northern Ghana, and in 2018 his song "Total Cheat" with Sarkodie was named Song of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards.

Early life

He was born Mujahid Ahmed Bello on 16 August 1988 in Hausa Zongo, Tamale, and attended Police Barracks Basic School. He was performing at school events and public gatherings by 12.

Career

He built a northern following with albums such as Laha Zibsi, Nyagsim, Ashili and Takahi, swept the Northern Entertainment and Northern Music Awards in 2016 and was New Artiste of the Year at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards. His collaborations include "Best Friend" with Stonebwoy, "Only You" with Kuami Eugene, "Juju" with Shatta Wale and "Customer" with Patoranking. Later releases include Mujahid (2018), the One Don EP (2021), Competition (October 2023) and, in January 2026, "Nburi Diba". He records with 5Minutes Music.

In August 2025 he performed at GhanaFest in the Bronx, New York. He has been a brand ambassador for Twellium's Rush energy drink and Zeepay, and was named the face of the Zongo community at Zongofest 2017. In July 2025 he donated cement and drinks to the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.
