Opoku Bilson

Opoku Bilson is a Ghanaian comedian and social media creator, one of the country's most recognised TikTok comedians. He is best known for the viral series Opoku and His Sugar Mummy, made with the Kumawood actress Diana Asamoah.

Beginnings

Before comedy, Opoku worked in the soap business and spent time behind the scenes on other people's content. He has spoken about a period in which he was broke and without a stable place to live. Determined to make it, he left the soap trade, opened his own Instagram, TikTok and Facebook accounts and started building his own brand. His first video as the lead actor went viral.

Sugar Mummy series

The skits with Diana Asamoah, in which he plays a young man attached to an older, wealthy woman, became his signature. When Asamoah married in real life, Opoku turned up at the wedding and staged a dramatic collapse, a bit fans recognised as part of the act and shared widely.

Recognition

He was nominated for Comedy Skit Act of the Year at the Ghana Comedy Awards 2026, and he has appeared at major events such as the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
