Ama Sarpong Bawuah

Ama Sarpong Bawuah became the first woman to chair Access Bank Ghana's board on 24 August 2022. She also founded GG&B Partners Brokerage, an insurance brokerage and business advisory firm, which she chairs.

Education

She attended Wesley Girls' High School, earned a BA in political science and French at the University of Ghana, and took an MBA in strategic management and marketing at Emory University's Goizueta Business School in Atlanta.

Career

She worked at Citigroup's New York headquarters in global transaction services, then led public affairs and communications for Coca-Cola in North and Equatorial Africa and was senior director of government relations for Africa at Newmont Mining. She has consulted for DFID and UNDP and advises large companies on government policy and community development. Avance Media listed her among Ghana's top 100 women board directors in 2026.
