Blackway

Blackway, born Yaw Sintim-Misa, is a Ghanaian-American rapper best known for What's Up Danger, his collaboration with the DJ duo Black Caviar on the soundtrack of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He is the son of the comedian and talk show host Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM).

Early life

He was born and raised in Ghana and moved to Long Island, New York, in 2006 to live with his mother.

Career in Ghana

He built his name in the Ghanaian scene first. He featured on DJ Juls' Raise My Flag in 2014, on Pretty Please from Ko-Jo Cue's debut album The Shining, on E.L's BAR 2 mixtape in 2015, and on Never Feel from M.anifest's 2016 album Apae (The Price of Free).

International breakthrough

What's Up Danger took him to a global audience, and the soundtrack it appeared on was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media at the 62nd Grammy Awards. In 2022 he signed a global record and co-publishing deal with Position Music and Hive Music. He placed two songs on the Madden NFL 24 soundtrack, featured on Shaquille O'Neal's 2023 single King Talk, and appeared with Swizz Beatz on The Return of Mansa Musa from Busta Rhymes' album Blockbusta.
