About Castro
Castro went missing on 6 July 2014 after a jet ski accident on the Ada estuary, where he was holidaying with footballer Asamoah Gyan and his brothers. Janet Bandu, who was with him, also vanished. The jet ski was found the same day, but neither body was ever recovered.
Takoradi beginnings
Theophilus Tagoe was born in Takoradi on 1 May 1982 to Lydia Tagoe, a trader, and Mr Cofie, an accountant. He went to All Saints Anglican Primary and JHS in Takoradi and was singing by ten. A guest spot on 4x4's "Sikletele" introduced him to listeners, and his 2003 hit "Sradenam" launched his solo career.
Hits
Also called Castro Under Fire and Castro De Destroyer, he worked closely with his friend Asamoah Gyan, recording three albums with him, including the popular "African Girls". He also featured on Sarkodie's "Adonai", which won Collaboration of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards.
