Clement Kofi Humado

Clement Kofi Humado is an agricultural economist who represented Anlo in the Volta Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for three terms, from 2005 to 2017, and served as Minister for Youth and Sports and Minister for Food and Agriculture. He was born on 18 December 1953; his family comes from Alakple.

He studied animal science and agricultural extension at the University of Ghana, graduating in 1976, and trained further at the University of East Anglia, GIMPA and the University of Reading. He worked for the World Food Programme and for the International Fund for Agricultural Development, where he was deputy project manager from 1991 to 1999. He joined the NDC in 2000, won Anlo in 2004, and took over 80 percent of the vote in 2008 and 2012. Richard Kwame Sefe of the NDC followed him and holds Anlo today. He is a Catholic, married with five children.
