Isaac Dogboe

Isaac Dogboe beat Jessie Magdaleno in 2018 to become WBO junior featherweight champion, and knocked out Hidenori Otake in the first round of his first defence.

Amateur

Isaac Zion Dogboe was born in Accra on 26 September 1994 and moved to London. He took silver at the African Olympic qualifier to reach the 2012 London Games, where he led Japan's Satoshi Shimizu after two rounds but lost when the judges gave the third round heavily to Shimizu, a result many called contentious. In 2013 he won the ABA British lightweight title boxing for the Territorial Army London club.

Professional

He turned pro in 2013 and went 17-0 before stopping Cesar Juarez in five rounds for the interim WBO title, then took the full belt from Magdaleno. The Otake defence came on 25 August 2018 in Glendale, Arizona. He lost the title to Emanuel Navarrete on points at Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater on 8 December 2018, and was stopped in the 12th round of their May 2019 rematch. He then took a break to continue his degree studies. A planned featherweight bout with Carl Frampton fell through, and he returned in July 2020 under Top Rank, stopping Chris Avalos in the last round in Las Vegas.
