About Jay Bahd
Jay Bahd is one of the Asakaa Boys, the Kumasi crew that put Ghanaian drill on the map. He was on Yaw Tog's hit "Sore" with O'Kenneth, City Boy and Reggie, which drew coverage as far as Rolling Stone.
Ejisu beginnings
Jackson Kwadwo Bawuah was born in Kumasi on 21 June 1999. At Ejisu Senior High Technical School he met the other Asakaa Boys and started rapping and recording with them. "Asakaa" is the local name for the drill sound, taken from Kumasi's reversed Twi street slang.
Music
His debut single, "Condemn", made with Kwaku DMC, came out on 13 November 2020 and gathered millions of views. He has since released the projects Balle Au Centre and Above All, and an album titled Return of Okomfo Anokye, named after the legendary Asante priest.
