O'Kenneth

Kenneth Opoku has been one of the architects of the Asakaa sound since before it had a name. Born on 13 August 1998 in Kumasi and performing as O’Kenneth, full tag YGA O’Kenneth, he began writing rap in 2016, developing a style that draws on Chicago drill and reframes it entirely through the streets of Kumerica. He was among the first artists at Life Living Records, the label that went on to house much of the Asakaa movement, and his feature on the landmark track Sore introduced the whole crew to a pan-African audience. His solo catalogue has established him as one of the most complete and consistent voices the movement has produced.
