Finding his voice
Derrick Okyere Brobbey was born on 9 May 1992 and grew up in Kumasi. He began writing rhymes in 2009 but says he found his own voice in 2016, when he linked up with Sean Lifer and Rabby Jones of Life Living Records, the label behind much of the Asakaa sound. He has explained the name as "Kwaku, the music child".
Records
His first mixtape, Road to TrApHouse, included "Breaking Bad". He released the album PITJ in 2022 and later a sixth full-length project, Road to the Jungle. He also made "Condemn" with Jay Bahd. His lyrics mix vivid street stories with luxury imagery.
