Lalid

Lalid, born Samuel Aboagye, is a Ghanaian rapper who broke into the mainstream in 2025 with The Matter, a chart-topping hit that he followed with a remix featuring Medikal. In 2026 the Telecel Ghana Music Awards nominated him for Best New Artiste, and The Matter for Best Hip Hop Song.

Early career

He began his mainstream music journey in 2018. His early releases were mostly guest verses on songs by up-and-coming acts: Kobby West's Ghetto Boy (2022), 6iX Moon's Party (2023), Frankweyzy's Don't Tempt Me and Youth Rise, and Spark Wyatt's Make Am (2024).

The Matter

The Matter gave him his first major hit in 2025, and in September that year a remix added Medikal. He kept the momentum going with a run of singles: Sabali with AlorG, Wise Man, Airbnb, Top Speed, Attitude and Steeze. He also featured on 39_40's 2AM and on Essumann's Big Bricks, whose February 2026 remix, Big Bricks II, brought Medikal in as well and passed 1.5 million views on YouTube. In December 2025 JoyOnline named him one of five Ghanaian artistes to look out for in 2026.

2026

At the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards he was nominated for Best New Artiste, which went to Kojo Blak, and The Matter was nominated for Best Hip Hop Song, won by Black Sherif's Where Dem Boyz. He has released steadily through the year, including Wicked, Motion, Zero Support, Sexy Loader, They Can't Kill Me, War Song, Had Enough and Suffer, another collaboration with Medikal. He also featured on WSH's Mission and Br3nya's Go Gaga. His recent singles come out on Life I Deserve Records.

On stage

He was one of the rising acts at the ON THE STREET pop-up shows at Republic Bar in Accra in 2025. In 2026 he performed at DJ Wallpaper's Vibe Experience alongside Medikal, Kojo Blak and Kofi Mole, and was billed for the RMU SRC Artiste Night.
