About Mabel Okyere
Mabel Okyere is a Ghanaian gospel singer and minister raised in Kumasi. She hails from Mampong Nsuta, the hometown of Piesie Esther, and was nominated for Best Gospel Artiste of the Year at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards.
Career
She entered the gospel scene in 2013 with her debut album, Ewurade Biribi Hia Me (Lord, I'm in Need), and has since released three albums. Aha Ye Kwan Ho is among her best-known songs.
Anuonyam (Glory) was nominated for Best Gospel Song at the 2024 Ghana Music Awards. In 2025 she released Aseda, Biribi Hia Me and So Far, So Good, which was nominated for Best Traditional Gospel Song in 2026, the same year she received her Best Gospel Artiste nomination.
She has spoken publicly against the idea that gospel musicians should perform for free, pointing to the real costs of producing and promoting music.
