Moliy

Moliy (born 4 October 2001) is a Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter. She first reached a global audience on Amaarae's Sad Girlz Luv Money in 2021, and scored her own worldwide hit with Shake It to the Max (Fly), which won two awards at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards.

Early life

Moliy was born and raised in Accra and spent parts of her childhood in the United States. She went to the US for college but came back to Ghana in 2019, and began building a following by posting freestyles and original songs online. She moved to Florida in 2021.

Career

Her debut EP, Wondergirl, came out in 2020 and got airplay in The Gambia, Nigeria and Kenya. In 2021 she featured on Amaarae's Sad Girlz Luv Money, which, with Kali Uchis added, reached number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 29 in the UK. It won Best Alternative Song at the 2022 3Music Awards. Her second EP, Honey Doom, followed in 2022.

In 2024 she released Shake It to the Max (Fly) with the Jamaican producer Silent Addy. It spread on TikTok, topped the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart and reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. A remix with Shenseea and Skillibeng passed a billion streams, and at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards it won Best Reggae/Dancehall Song and Best International Collaboration. She was also nominated for Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artist that year. Her 2025 single Body Go features Tyla, and her mixtape Baddies Love Moliy came out in 2026.
