Kennedy Osei

Kennedy Asante Osei, known as Ken, is a Ghanaian businessman and lawyer and the eldest son of the media owner Osei Kwame Despite. He is General Manager of Despite Media Group, which runs Peace FM, Neat FM, Hello FM, United Television (UTV) and Peacefmonline.com.

Education

Osei was born on 10 October 1988. He went to the Reverend John Teye Memorial Institute in Accra and then Adisadel College in Cape Coast. He studied business administration, majoring in banking and finance, at the University of Ghana Business School, and took a master's in money, banking and finance at the University of Birmingham in England. He later read law, earning an LLB from Mountcrest University College and an LLM in corporate and commercial law from the University of Ghana School of Law, and was called to the Ghana Bar in 2022.

Business

As General Manager he oversees the day-to-day running of the Despite Group's radio, television and online outlets, the core of the business his father built after founding Peace FM in 1999. He also heads several other companies, including Golden Crest Hotel, Aerial Plus, Nextbite Company Limited and Tribal Africa.

Family

He married the fashion designer Tracy Ameyaw in a traditional ceremony on Valentine's Day 2020, followed by a white wedding the next day. The couple announced the birth of twins in 2021 and marked their sixth anniversary in February 2026.
