Lil Win

Kwadwo Nkansah left primary school in the sixth grade. He went on to become Kumawood's biggest comic star as Lil Win, and in 2018 he was named most promising proprietor at a national private schools awards for the school he founded in Kumasi.

Early life

He was born on 15 April 1987 and grew up in Ahenkro Kwaman in the Ashanti Region, one of seven children of Kwadwo Boadi Nkansah and Adwoa Afrah. After leaving primary school he later attended junior high school at Kenyasi Abrem and studied at the Abbeam Institute of Technology in Kasoa.

Kumawood

He built his name in Kumasi's Twi-language film industry, where his short height and fast physical comedy made him a box-office draw. His films include Azonto Ghost (2012), Se Manhyia (2016), Nteteye Pa (2016), Mo Maria (2017), Adanfo Bone (2017) and A Country Called Ghana (2024). In August 2025 he premiered a film about Burkina Faso's leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. He won Favourite Actor at the 2015 Ghana Movie Awards.

Music

Lil Win also records music. His songs include "Mama Boss Papa (Yimama)", "Pidgintoi" with MzVee, "Anointing" with Kuami Eugene and "Y3b3 Y3 Yie" with Lasmid.

School and charity

He founded and directs Great Minds International School in Kumasi and built a school at Ahenkro. He has also been honoured by the United Nations for campaigning against illegal migration in West Africa.

Accident and controversies

In May 2024 his car was involved in a crash at Amakom in Kumasi in which a three-year-old boy died; Lil Win was injured and admitted to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. In October 2026 actor Van Vicker sued him for defamation at the High Court, seeking GH₵10 million over a video posted on 13 August 2026 in which Lil Win accused Van Vicker of failing to meet his obligations on a film. The claims had not been tested in court.

Family

His first marriage, to Patricia, with whom he has two children, ended in divorce. He later married Maame Serwaa, the mother of his twins.
