Dr Michael Agyekum Addo, founder and chief executive of the KAMA Group, died on 31 October 2024 at the age of 74.

He founded KAMA in 1983 with a small pharmacy in Kumasi and built it into a group spanning pharmaceuticals, microfinance, real estate and conference services. He was also the Nkabomhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area in Koforidua. The University of Ghana Business School was among the institutions that paid tribute on his death.
