Michael Kwesi Ofori

Michael Kwesi Ofori, known to many as "The General", was a Ghanaian entrepreneur and philanthropist and the founder and chief executive of Investor Hub, a consultancy that connected African businesses with foreign investors. He died on Tuesday, 12 August 2025. The cause of death was not made public.

Investor Hub

Ofori founded Investor Hub in 2018. The firm arranged funding for government and private projects across the continent, with a focus on West Africa, and worked to attract multinational companies to open offices in Ghana, bringing in foreign direct investment and jobs. In March 2024 he broadened his portfolio with Ultimate HR Services, a human resources company.

Recognition

He was one of the most consistently recognised young executives in Ghana, named among the Top 50 Young CEOs in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. He received a Ghana 40 Under 40 award in 2022 and a Head of State award in 2023.

Relationship with Ernest Ofori Sarpong

Ofori was widely described as the "son" of businessman Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong. After his death, reports clarified that he was Dr Ofori Sarpong's godson rather than his biological child, though the two shared a close bond.

Death and tributes

News of his death spread quickly on social media, where friends, business associates and admirers mourned him. His final social media post, shared again after his passing, drew wide attention as Ghanaians reflected on the loss of a young businessman at the height of his career.
