Nxwrth
Record Producer, DJ
About Nxwrth
Nxwrth produced much of the sound of La Meme Gang, the Accra collective whose work earned Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nominations and a Boiler Room documentary.
Beginnings
Ahmed Froko, pronounced "North", has family roots in Wa in the Upper West Region. Cape Coast is his birthplace, but it was in Accra, where he was raised, that he started making beats as a youngster, building his style around bass, drum machines and synths. Winning a beat battle run by Accra Dot Alt Radio got him noticed. He cites Travis Scott, WondaGurl and Mike Dean as influences.
Productions
He worked on La Meme Tape (2017) and La Meme Tape 2 (Linksters) (2018), Joey B's Darryl EP (2017) and Kwesi Arthur's 2019 single "Pray For Me", and released NASA: Thanks For Flying in 2020. His tracks include "Mama" with RJZ and Darkovibes, "Sundress", "Godzilla", "Cupid", "Above Average" with Sky Kuu and Kwesi Arthur, and "Oh My Days" with KwakuBs, Kiddblack, Darkovibes and Kuvie.
