About Ras Kuuku
Ras Kuuku (born Kojo Kurankye, 23 July 1984) is a Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artiste from Accra, known to fans as the "Ghetto Youth President". He won Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards.
Career
His early releases include Valley of Death (2010) and Y3 Tali Mu (2014). He put out a long run of singles in 2018, and songs such as Mr Government, Bad System and Peaceful Election show his interest in social and political themes.
His album Kuntunkununku the Heaviest came out in 2019 and Kwame Nkrumah in 2020, the year he won Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year ahead of a field that included Samini, Epixode and Jupitar. Gye Diee, with MOG Music, was nominated for Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year in 2021.
Later projects include 3 3 & 1 (Miensa Miensa Ne Baako) (2022), Allow (2023) and Road of Evil (2024). He was nominated for Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year again in 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, and the Eyeball remix with Samini and Road of Evil earned song nominations in 2024 and 2025.
