Abeiku Santana

Abeiku Santana is one of Ghana's most popular radio broadcasters and a leading champion of the country's tourism industry, a media personality who parlayed a booming radio career into business and public office.

Early life and radio career

He was born Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana on 16 February 1977. He built his broadcasting career through the 1990s and 2000s at stations in Koforidua, Kumasi and Accra, including a long spell at Adom FM, before joining the Despite Media group's Okay FM in 2010, where his energetic drive-time show made him a household name.

Tourism advocacy

Alongside broadcasting he built a travel and tourism business, founding Kaya Tours Ghana, and became one of the most vocal promoters of Ghanaian tourism. He was named a Tourism Ambassador for Ghana in 2017, and later took up a role as a deputy chief executive of the Ghana Tourism Authority.

Recognition

His work on air has been widely honoured, including being named Personality of the Year at the Radio and Television Personality Awards, recognition of his standing at the top of Ghanaian broadcasting.
