Catherine Engmann

Catherine Engmann is a Ghanaian corporate governance professional and the Board Chair of First Atlantic Bank PLC. She built her early career in company secretarial work at large listed companies in the United Kingdom before returning to Ghana, where she now chairs and advises boards.

Training

Engmann holds a BSc in biotechnology from the University of Westminster and qualified through the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators as a chartered governance professional. She is also a certified John Maxwell coach and trainer and a culture transformation consultant.

Career

In the UK she worked in governance roles at British Sky Broadcasting Group, InterContinental Hotels Group and Mouchel Group. In Ghana she worked with Platinum Board Services and was Country Managing Director of Sirdar Ghana Limited. In 2024 she founded Mindful Governance, a governance advisory business.

Boards

She chairs the board of First Atlantic Bank, and in 2025 she also became chair of its sister company First Atlantic Asset Management. She sits on the board of Affinity Ghana Savings and Loans. Avance Media named her among its 2026 Top 100 Ghana's Women Board Directors.
