Charles Agyinasare

Charles Agyinasare was expelled from St. Martin's Secondary School as a teenager, by his own account deep in drinking, drugs and clubbing. In 1983 he entered full-time ministry, and in 1987 he founded the church that became Perez Chapel International, now with more than 400 branches in 26 countries.

Roots

Charles Yewuraekow Agyin-Asare was born at Achiase in the Eastern Region on 22 March 1962, where his mother had gone to give birth. His father, Andrews Kofi Asare, was a soldier in the Field Engineers Regiment, and Charles grew up at Weija Barracks in Accra, attending Weija Barracks Primary and the Armed Forces Experimental School.

Ministry

He founded Word Miracle Church International in 1987; it was later renamed Perez Chapel International. Through Agyinasare World Evangelism he has held crusades and leadership conferences in 96 countries, with a strong focus on healing and evangelism. He was elevated to archbishop in 2022.
