He was born on 3 May in the Ashanti Region. Besides Glorious Wave he leads Emmanuel Kobi Ministries and Kingdom Bible College, and is the author of several books, among them Born for Glory. In September 2016 he gave US$10,000 to a veteran actor who was being treated for heart disease at Korle-Bu.
Controversy
In February 2019 the NPP's Abronye DC called him a fake pastor. In July 2019 Parliament and the Christian Council of Ghana condemned remarks he made about Ashanti and Fante women, which the council called bigoted.
Family
He is divorced from Gloria Sarfo. Their son, Daniel Kenneth Badu Kobi, an Ashesi University student, died in 2017 aged 19 after a short illness; former President John Mahama attended the funeral.
