About Dominic Fobih
Professor Dominic Fobih is an educational psychologist who was Minister for Lands, Forestry and Mines under President Kufuor and represented Assin South in the Central Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2001 to 2017. He was born on 16 July 1942 and comes from Assin Jakai.
Academic
Fobih earned a PhD in educational psychology at the University of Alberta in Canada in 1979. He lectured at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria and at the University of Cape Coast, and became a professor.
Minister and education spokesman
He won Assin South in 2000 and held it for four terms. He was Minister for Lands, Forestry and Mines from 2003 to 2007. In opposition after 2009 he was the minority's spokesman on education. He later chaired the board of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund). John Ntim Fordjour holds Assin South today.
