Maurice Cashinco

Maurice Nii Adjei Cashinco is a Ghanaian technology entrepreneur, business consultant and coach who leads Kumasi Hive, one of the best known innovation hubs outside Accra. He brings a background in marketing management and experience in project management and entrepreneurship policy.

Kumasi Hive

As managing director of Kumasi Hive, Cashinco oversees a technology hub that supports startups and trains young people for the digital economy. Through its Future Workforce for Africa initiative, the hub trains students, unemployed and underemployed youth in emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things, virtual and augmented reality, biotechnology and blockchain. Graduates are prepared either to build startups around real problems or to move into employment. The hub also partners with companies and schools on hackathons and innovation challenges.

Background

Cashinco grew up in Accra in a family of five and completed his education from basic school through university in the capital. Before his work at Kumasi Hive he served as a programme coordinator for an Accra-based non-governmental organisation.

Recognition

He was named among Ghana's Top 50 Young CEOs in 2023. He is active in conversations about impact financing and entrepreneurship policy, including British Council programmes on social enterprise in Ghana.
