Nadia Buari

For a stretch of the 2000s and 2010s, Nadia Buari was one of the faces that sold a Ghanaian film to audiences across the continent. Educated at Mfantsiman Girls and later the University of Ghana, where she studied theatre, she moved from stage training into a screen career spanning both Ghallywood and Nollywood.

Her breakout came with Beyonce: The President's Daughter, and she followed it with a run of leading roles that earned nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and a reputation as one of the most glamorous stars of her generation.

She is a mother of four, twins among them, and though she has slowed her on-screen output, she remains one of the enduring names of the West African film boom she helped drive.
