Takoradi roots
She was born in Sekondi-Takoradi on 21 November 1982, the youngest of five children of musician Sidiku Buari; her four older siblings are two sets of twins. She attended Mfantsiman Girls' Secondary School and earned a BFA in performing arts at the University of Ghana, where she was active in drama and dance.
Films
Her TV debut came in the 2005 series Games People Play, followed by the film Mummy's Daughter. Around 2008 she moved into Nollywood, with titles including Single and Married, Holding Hope, Rough Rider and a Beauty and the Beast, and several pairings with Jim Iyke, including Hot Romance and Behind a Smile. She received two AMAA nominations for best leading actress in 2009, released her own film The Diary of Imogene Brown in 2013 and won the Pan African Actress award at that year's Nigeria Entertainment Awards in New York. In 2023 she acted with Nana Ama McBrown for the first time, in Coming Africa: Welcome to Ghana.
