Perez Musik

Perez Musik (born Frank Nii Okai Tagoe) is a Ghanaian gospel singer, songwriter and worship leader whose music draws on his Ga heritage. His song Hewale Lala (Song of Strength) won Songwriter of the Year at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards, where he also won Best Male Vocal Performance.

Background

Before turning to gospel, he spent years in bars and drinking spots while struggling with anxiety and depression. He has said the change came after he joined his mother and aunt at a fellowship meeting, where he gave his life to Christ. He later founded the ministry Rhema City of Worship.

Career

He released Tenacity in 2015 and It Is Possible in 2019, along with singles such as Blema Tesaa. Hewale Lala, released in 2022, became his breakthrough and earned six nominations at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards. His album Breakthrough came out the same year.

Kaafo (Don't Cry) brought more nominations in 2024, including Best Gospel Song and Best Male Vocal Performance, and By Prayer was nominated for Best Male Vocal Performance in 2026. He has also released medley projects, including the Move series and the Ga medley Ga Lalai (2026).
